Easy to use, simple to install

Using the TomTom HOME dock you can install the software in minutes, setting it up to suit your needs. The intuitive user menu gives you the perfect navigation experience, and since you can set it up on the mobile or PDA you use everyday, the system is highly portable for use by car, by bike or on foot.

Improved navigation system, usability, accuracy

Improving on its predecessors, TomTom Navigator 5 and TomTom Mobile, Navigator 6 has better power management to optimise the battery life of your PDA or Mobile Phone. The system is also customisable to suit your needs, for instance the status bar can be set to maximise readability and display only the information you need. TomTom's new Tips feature helps you to discover everything your system has to offer with useful onscreen pointers, and the extensive guided tour allows you to pick up features quickly and get the most out of your TomTom from the start.

Best Routes

With the latest and most complete maps, you can navigate door-to-door across the UK. Full post code searches allows you find your destination quickly and easily and the route choice feature means you can plan your route to fit your requirements, such as: quickest, shortest, avoiding toll roads and congestion areas, by chosen arrival time and more. You can then preview and test the proposed route before you go. If you need to stop off along the way you can set the schedule of places to visit, in order before you go rather than chosing a new route at every stop. Can't think of anywhere to stop? Use the extensive list of Points of Interest stored in the software to give you some ideas, or help you find what you're looking for.

Crystal Clear instructions

The Clear user interface can be viewed in 2D or 3D graphics, nightview and up to 65,000 colours, for optimal visibility. The visual instructions are realistic, even replicating the road signs around you where available, making the route easy to follow. The audio instructions are available in 22 languages in over 50 different voices, but even if you miss a turn, TomTom's fast and accurate re-routing calculation gets you on your way again without missing a beat. If you're travelling by foot, you can view the pedestrian ventric map, viewing your position using the special 2D map view, which is fixed in one position with several levels of zoom for better orientation when navigating by foot.

Call handling options

Our vivid 3D navigation view allows you to grasp your current position better in the same way that you deal with the real world, intuitively. It is particularly helpful when navigating junctions and roundabouts.

Night View
Extra safety feature. TomTom NAVIGATOR has a special low-glare night display setting. This uses colour schemes that are significantly easier for the eye to adjust to while night driving.

You can select between different colour styles suitable for night-time driving depending on your personal preferences.

Easy Address Entry and Working with Outlook
The TomTom NAVIGATOR software has an intuitive approach to entering addresses. Usually you only need to type a few characters of the city or street name and you can select the right option from a list. You can specify the house number or select a nearby street crossing if you don’t know the number.

A recent innovation for TomTom users working in or visiting London.

Avoid fees or fines by navigating around the London congestion charge zone. TomTom warns you when your planned route passes through the congestion zone and gives you the option of planning an alternative route that avoids the zone.
